It All Adds Up
The dribs and drabs are adding up to make for some fun skiing again. Today's forecast looks like a promising addition to the 9cm we received overnight. In the past few days we have seen very little in the way of cornice growth and slab development but we expect this to change with the continued snow, forecasted moderate to strong Southerly winds and high relative humidty. In recent shovel tests we are still getting moderate, sudden results within the upper 60cm's on various surface hoar layers. When the sun shines don't get complacent - think about what that heat is doing to the snowpack and overhead cornices.
It's gonna be a good day of skiing!
