Location: Below south boundary of the resort
Access: via bootpack
Minimum Time Required: 30 minutes
Vertical: 1000ft back to resort boundary
Aspect: South-South West
Avalanche Terrain Rating: Complex
Getting There: From the top of the Eagles Eye Gondola ski down the ridge to the south staying on the saddle above 'Bowl Over'. Follow the traverse along the saddle until the rope line which controls the access for 'Glory Run' and 'Terminator Chutes'. Follow the bootpack along the rope line making sure to stay to the right of the rope should 'Glory Run' be closed. However if 'Glory Run' is closed it is a good indication that avy conditions may be questionable. It is recommended to check in at the patrol shack at the top of the gondola prior to venturing out. This is a popular run so the bootpack should be straight forward right to the top of Super Bowl.
The Goods: From the top there is a plethora of options depending on your appetite. From cliffbands to wide open gullies, Super Bowl has a little of everything all mixed into one delicious run. With this being said be extremely cautious of local avalanche conditions as this slope has surprised and injured many experienced backcountry skiers. Much of the south facing slope has a mid-slope convex roll which should not be taken for granted no matter how close to the resort boundary you are. Play Safe, Shred Hard.....
